An experienced European Statutory Accountant is required by an industry leading organisation on a contract basis (outside IR35) for 3-6 months.
The European Statutory Accountant will be primarily responsible for preparing and submitting statutory financial statements for up to 15 countries/company entities.
European Statutory Accountant Responsibilities:
- Preparing key financial statements
- Managing the relationships with third party advisors and auditors
- Ensuring that all financial statements and local filing obligations are prepared accurately and on time
- Identifying and resolving issues - involves partnering with different finance teams and outsourced providers
- Building solid relationships with both Group and local audit teams
- Act as the critical point of contact across the business to provide interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards and complex areas of accounting.
- Leading ad-hoc tasks and accounting projects as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified finance professional (ACA or ACCA)
- Experience of UK GAAP and US GAAP
- Up to date technical skills - IFRS / FRS 102
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders at a senior level from multiple jurisdictions both internal and external
- Strong Excel skills
- Resilient and capable of managing multiple priorities
