Finance Manager – Growing Manufacturing Group | Near Derby
A fast growing UK manufacturing group is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to play a key role within its finance function during an exciting period of change and system transformation.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this role will be hands-on and operational while also offering responsibility for team management and cross functional collaboration. The successful candidate will take ownership of the financial records and monthly management accounts for a core operating entity, alongside several UK property companies and contribute to group level reporting and board packs.
The Role:
- Full ownership of monthly management accounts, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Preparation of monthly reporting packs and financial insight for business review meetings.
- Management of cash flow, banking, debtor control, and supplier payments.
- Oversight of payroll, VAT returns and statutory compliance.
- Control of intercompany balances and property company ledgers.
- Leading audit and year-end processes, including stock take planning and R&D tax relief support.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial planning.
- Playing a key role in finance projects, including a transition from Sage to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Regular interaction with operations to support margin analysis and commercial decision making.
- Liaison with a wider UK based finance team and senior stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in management accounting within a hands-on finance role.
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background.
- Commercially minded, with experience supporting operational teams.
- Confident in managing processes, projects and people in a fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Sage and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable driving change and improvement.
- Location: Near Derby (office-based), with occasional travel to the South Coast.
