A leading international business is looking to appoint a Financial Reporting Specialist to join its UK finance function in a hands on role supporting financial reporting, accounting control and continuous improvement across a complex, multi-entity environment.
Based in Central London with hybrid working, this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working across technical accounting, financial reporting and process improvement.
The Role:
You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting across a complex UK group, working closely with senior finance stakeholders, international teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the monthly close and production of management accounts and reporting packs.
- Reviewing balance sheet accounts, estimates and key accounting judgements.
- Managing inter-company accounting and reconciliations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Overseeing fixed asset and capital accounting.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on material and high risk accounts.
- Preparing statutory financial statements and supporting year-end audit processes.
- Supporting VAT accounting and returns, together with elements of corporate tax accounting.
- Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, automation and standardisation.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Around 3-5 years' post qualified experience within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong financial accounting and financial control experience.
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and statutory reporting.
- Experience working across multiple legal entities, ideally within a complex or matrix organisation.
- Multi-currency experience would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills and experience handling large data sets.
- Hands on SAP experience, particularly General Ledger/FICO, is essential.
- BPC experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- A proactive, solutions focused approach with a genuine interest in process improvement.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to work with non finance stakeholders.
