Project / Installation Manager
Confidential Opportunity | £50,000–£60,000 + Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project / Installation Manager to take the next step in their career and take ownership of a growing project delivery function within an established and expanding organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting to the Group Operations Director, with responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of a portfolio of installation and project-based work.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are well planned, properly resourced, commercially controlled and delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for coordinating and overseeing multiple live projects, while providing day-to-day leadership and support to the wider project team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting a team of Project Managers, Coordinators and administrative staff.
- Overseeing multiple projects from initial mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Ensuring projects are appropriately planned, resourced and delivered against agreed programmes.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying potential issues and putting recovery plans in place where required.
- Working closely with operations, procurement, warehouse, logistics, installation teams and subcontractors.
- Managing project budgets, costs and margins and ensuring commercial considerations remain front of mind.
- Supporting the management of variations, delays, subcontractor costs and other project-related issues.
- Acting as a senior point of contact for clients and managing escalated delivery issues.
- Providing regular project updates, reporting and KPIs to senior management.
- Helping improve project processes, systems and reporting across the business.
- Supporting sales pitches, tenders and client presentations where appropriate.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with relevant health & safety, quality and compliance requirements.
About You
We're looking for someone who has strong project delivery experience within an installation, fit-out, construction, manufacturing, engineering, interiors, exhibitions or similar environment.
You don't necessarily need to have held a Head of Projects title previously. This could be an excellent opportunity for a strong Senior Project Manager or experienced Project Manager who is ready to take on greater responsibility and develop into a broader leadership position.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience managing multiple projects from start to finish.
- Experience working with installation teams, subcontractors, suppliers and logistics.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Good commercial awareness, including managing project budgets and costs.
- Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating other project professionals.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to identify problems early and take ownership of finding solutions.
- A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to make decisions.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
The Opportunity
This is a genuine step-up opportunity for an experienced project professional who wants to broaden their responsibilities and move into a leadership position.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how projects are delivered, develop the project team and introduce improvements to processes, planning and project controls.
If you're currently working as a Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Installation Manager or Project Delivery Manager and are looking for the next step in your career, we'd be keen to hear from you.
