Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and reporting packs for senior management.
- Overseeing month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accuracy.
- Supporting the ongoing implementation and development of a new ERP system, ensuring the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structures are accurately maintained.
- Working with the business to improve reporting, data integrity and the automation of finance processes.
- Supervising and mentoring a team of two Transaction Accountants, overseeing sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control and cash management activities.
- Maintaining strong financial controls across inventory, stock movements, accruals, prepayments and banking.
- Supporting statutory reporting, audit preparation, VAT and other tax compliance requirements.
- Working alongside the Finance Business Partner on contribution margin and profitability analysis across different sales channels.
About You:
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong management accounting experience and the confidence to take ownership of financial reporting and operational finance processes.
Ideally, you will also bring:
- Experience within a manufacturing, distribution or multi-channel e-commerce environment.
- A strong track record of managing month-end, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Experience with Odoo would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar.
- Experience supervising, developing or mentoring junior finance team members.
- A practical, analytical approach, with a focus on improving processes, automation and data accuracy.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on opportunity to join a growing business at an important stage of its development. You will have real scope to influence financial processes, support a major systems transformation and help develop the Finance function.
